€20M Shared Island Sustainability Capital Grant Supports Six Decarbonisation Projects in Ireland and Northern Ireland
Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Minister Peter Burke, and Northern Ireland Economy Minister Dr. Caoimhe Archibald announced six projects awarded funding under the €20m Shared Island Sustainability Capital Grant scheme.
This initiative, financed by the Government of Ireland's Shared Island Fund, aims to support capital projects that incorporate sustainable technologies to reduce carbon emissions in industrial operations. The scheme allocates €10m each for Ireland and Northern Ireland, leveraging over €63.5m in private investment for decarbonisation.
Projects include Aurivo's innovative dairy processing technology, Ecocem's low-carbon cement production, Gannon Eco's hazardous waste recycling, O&S Doors' renewable energy investment, and Capper Trading's renewable energy hub. This effort is part of the €30m Shared Island Enterprise Scheme, promoting cross-border cooperation for economic growth, innovation, and sustainability.
