An EIB survey reveals that 70% of Moroccan SMEs are engaged in decarbonization processes. 48% have initiated actions, while 22% actively implement a clear strategy. As Morocco advances its low-carbon economy strategy, 29% of SMEs plan to adopt measures to reduce their carbon footprint.

The EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) set to take effect in 2026 poses a competitive risk for SMEs not addressing carbon emissions. The Trade and Competitiveness Programme offers support to help SMEs integrate decarbonization into their business models.
