AAI Allocates Rs 3,490 Crore for Air Navigation System Upgrades in India

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has allocated Rs 3,490 crore to modernize its air navigation systems from 2026 to 2028, with Rs 1,532 crore designated for automating air traffic management. This investment follows a recent disruption in Delhi's air traffic control and aims to enhance Communication, Navigation and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) infrastructure nationwide. Additionally, AAI is partnering with IIT Madras for cyber security consultancy services and has filled 2,341 technical posts while 1,279 air traffic controller positions remain vacant.
