Since opening its first fulfillment center in Louisiana in late 2021, Amazon has expanded to 13 locations across the state. Its operations now employ over 10,000 people, with significant facilities in Carencro, Baton Rouge, and Shreveport.
The Baton Rouge center, a $200 million investment, can process up to 300,000 packages daily during peak times. Amazon's growth has also spurred local economic activity, with nearly 200 new businesses emerging around its facilities from 2021 to 2024.
