Approval Granted for 200,000-Ton Green Methanol Project in Inner Mongolia
METHANOLHYDROGEN
A green methanol project in Guyang County, Inner Mongolia, has received approval for a RMB 420 million investment, led by Xindao Hydrogen Energy Technology (Baotou) Co., Ltd. The 200,000-ton project will utilize water electrolysis and agricultural biomass, aiming to produce 100,000 tons of green methanol and 140 million cubic meters of hydrogen annually, with construction slated from July 2026 to December 2028. A second phase is planned to further enhance production capacity, targeting an output of 1.485 billion kWh of green electricity and 291 million cubic meters of green hydrogen.
