The Antigua Public Utilities Authority has received Cabinet approval for a $5 million modernization project aimed at overhauling the water infrastructure in St. John's. The project will replace aging cast-iron pipelines, enhance water flow, and reduce service disruptions.
The government has committed $4 million to the initiative, with the potential for an additional $1 million after an assessment. The first phase targets a high-density area and includes the use of HDPE pipes and an expanded SCADA system for better monitoring and leak detection.
