Birmingham, Alabama, has received a $2 million grant under the SEEDS Act to develop a logistics and manufacturing center at the Ensley Works and Birmingport sites. The initiative aims to prepare the Western Corridor for future industrial growth, enhancing site readiness for high-quality job creation. In 2024, Alabama Power will construct a transmission substation at Ensley Works, and a 25,000 sq. ft. warehouse was opened at Birmingport terminal last year.
