FLOW CONTROL

The Bureau of Reclamation is replacing all four original valves at Blue Mesa Dam, a $32 million project initiated in January 2023. The dam, completed in 1966, is crucial for water storage, flood control, and hydroelectric power in Colorado.

The project involves replacing two ring follower gate valves and two butterfly valves to enhance safety and reliability. Refurbished components are expected to return for installation in August 2023.
