The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has allocated $5 million in grants to eight projects aimed at creating jobs, training future forestry workers, and enhancing small businesses' roles in wildfire protection. These initiatives are part of CAL FIRE's business and workforce development program, which has funded over $100 million in similar projects since 2022. The grants support various efforts, including job training for young adults, mentorship programs, and investments in mass timber production, aligning with California's wildfire and forest resilience action plan.
