Canadavia, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, and Yanmar Partner to Reduce Methane Slip in LNG Engines
METHANOL
A consortium comprising Canadavia, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, and Yanmar Power Solutions has achieved a 98% reduction in methane slip from LNG combustion engines during onboard testing, exceeding their 70% target. Ongoing testing will continue until the end of 2026, with plans to implement the technology in 2027, while other companies like WinGD and Cummins are also advancing engine technologies aimed at improving emissions and fuel efficiency.
