Broward County, Florida, has contracted Carollo Engineers and CDM Smith to enhance its drinking water treatment infrastructure to combat PFAS contamination, with upgrades slated for completion by April 2031. The project includes the installation of advanced nanofiltration systems and a six-mile potable water transmission main, ensuring operational continuity during construction. Additionally, improvements to SCADA systems and the design of nanofiltration membranes for future reverse osmosis conversion will be implemented.
