The Cheshire police budget for 2026/27, proposed by Commissioner Dan Price, saves 30 Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) roles after a £14.39 increase in council tax for Band B households. This decision follows a public consultation where 73% of residents supported some increase.
Despite saving these positions, 30 of the 60 previously identified at risk remain unprotected. The budget also includes plans for investment in smart automation and additional neighborhood officers.
