Claye Souilly Wagabox: Pioneering Europe's Largest Landfill-to-RNG Project
NEWS
At the Claye Souilly landfill near Paris, Waga Energy has established one of France's largest renewable natural gas (RNG) production units using its innovative Wagabox technology. Transitioning from a French feed-in tariff to a 13-year biomethane purchase agreement with Engie, this project underscores the viability of unsubsidized RNG production at scale. With an annual output of 120 GWh, the facility not only avoids 24,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions but also serves as a model for future landfill projects across Europe, supporting local green energy initiatives and enhancing energy security.
