GREEN STEEL
The Clyde Road Upgrade has commenced its largest construction phase, lifting 48-tonne beams to expand the bridge from 6 to 10 lanes. This project aims to reduce bottlenecks and improve traffic flow in Melbourne's south-east, with completion expected in 2027.
Nightly closures of the Princes Freeway will occur until March 27 to facilitate the installation of beams and concrete panels. The project also emphasizes sustainability, utilizing low-carbon steel and supporting local manufacturing.
