POWER GRIDS & TRANSMISSIONFUEL CELL
The Connecticut Siting Council has approved the installation of an anti-climb chain link fence for the $80 million fuel cell plant in Bridgeport, CT. The 9.66-megawatt facility will provide power to the United Illuminating grid and has faced criticism regarding its size and aesthetics.
The request was approved on January 30, with additional details required in a development plan approved in May 2025. The plant is expected to supply electricity to 10,000 households and heat to local institutions.
