Construction Begins on St Helens Transport Interchange with Low Carbon Steel from Italy

St Helens Borough Council and English Cities Fund have commenced construction of the St Helens Transport Interchange, utilizing low carbon steel sourced from Italy. This sustainable material will be used in 90% of the build, enhancing durability and environmental efficiency. The £35 million project is funded by £32 million from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and £3.25 million from the Government's Towns Fund.
