Councillors Urge Severn Trent to Invest in Scunthorpe Sewage System to Support Development
FLOW CONTROL
Councillors in Scunthorpe are calling for Severn Trent to invest in sewage infrastructure due to capacity issues that threaten future housing developments. They highlight that existing sewage pumping stations are inadequate and warn that without improvements, development will be hampered for years. Severn Trent has committed to investing £186m in its waste network by 2030 and has already invested £21m in the Scunthorpe-Yaddlethorpe Sewage Treatment Works since 2020.
