EDF Renewables South Africa has commissioned the 420 MW Koruson 1 wind cluster, consisting of three wind farms, and built the largest privately developed substation in South Africa. The project, located between Noupoort and Middelburg, can supply power to about 193,000 households and connects up to 1.5 GW of renewable energy to the national grid, addressing transmission capacity constraints.
