INDUSTRIAL IOT
The Fairbanks North Star Borough has approved a $2.5 million project to design a new recycling facility, aiming to replace the current site on Marika Road with a repurposed cold storage warehouse at the landfill. Funded through the Solid Waste Division's enterprise fund, the initiative seeks to enhance recycling efficiency and increase the borough's diversion rate, which currently stands at 0.7%, far below the target of 10%. This strategic shift focuses on optimizing existing infrastructure to align operational costs with recycling goals.
