FirstEnergy Upgrades Power Grid in Monmouth County for Enhanced Reliability

FirstEnergy Corp.'s Jersey Central Power & Light is completing significant upgrades to the power grid in northern Monmouth County, NJ, to improve reliability for nearly 25,000 homes and businesses. The $30 million project includes modernizing 10 miles of power lines, replacing old poles, and adding backup lines.
Construction began in mid-2025 and is expected to be finished by spring 2026. This initiative is part of FirstEnergy's Energize365 program, which aims to invest $28 billion in grid modernization from 2025 to 2029.
