FTAI Aviation to Convert Boeing 737 Engines for Data Center Power Generation
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTUREGAS TURBINES & ENGINES
FTAI Aviation plans to sell modified Boeing 737 jet engines to provide electricity for data centers. Other companies, including ProEnergy and Boom Supersonic, are also adapting aircraft engines for power generation.
Crusoe, an AI data center startup, will be the first customer for Boom's modified gas turbine, expected in 2027. Major energy equipment manufacturers like GE Vernova, Siemens Energy, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries already offer 'aeroderivative' turbines based on jet engines.
