Gridworks and Uganda Government Sign Key Agreements for Amari Power Transmission Project

POWER GRIDS & TRANSMISSION

On February 4, Gridworks and the Ugandan government signed two agreements to initiate the Amari Power Transmission project. Estimated at $50 million, the project will enhance capacity at four strategic high-voltage substations: Tororo, Nkenda, Mbarara North, and Mbarara South.

The initiative aims to improve power supply quality, reduce system losses, and facilitate the integration of renewable energy. This project marks the first privately led power transmission initiative in Africa to reach the construction phase.
