Hamburg Port Authority Launches SIMON Research Project for Autonomous Underwater Monitoring

The Hamburg Port Authority, in collaboration with bbe Moldaenke GmbH, BUKEA, and the University of Lübeck, is launching the SIMON project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Research. With a 24-month duration and a budget of approximately one million euros, the project aims to develop autonomous underwater vehicles for environmental water monitoring in the Port of Hamburg. HPA will receive about €232,000 in funding to enhance ecological monitoring capabilities through advanced sensor technology.
