Susan McFarlin, president of the Hampton Ponds Association, has requested the Water Commission to rescind its Nov. 10 decision to cease maintenance of sewer grinder pumps, which the city has maintained for 25 years. Residents were unaware of the discussions leading to this decision.

A meeting is scheduled for Feb. 12 to address the matter. The city maintained that homeowners were responsible for pump maintenance according to an original contract, while residents argue the need for city support due to the pumps' reliability issues.
