IIT Bhubaneswar has commissioned an advanced digital substation featuring a Centralised Monitoring and Protection (CPM) system. This development enables real-time monitoring of the electrical distribution network, contributing to India's smart grid efforts.

The project, under the National Perspective Plan of the Central Power Research Institute, was inaugurated by Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS, along with key dignitaries. The indigenous substation integrates Distributed Energy Resources and enhances grid intelligence and reliability.
