Kenya has selected Power Grid Corp of India Limited and Africa50 for a $311 million project aimed at expanding its transmission network. This PPP agreement focuses on designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining two high-voltage transmission lines to enhance electricity supply in western and northern Kenya.

This decision follows the cancellation of two major infrastructure projects in November 2024. Indian firms are increasingly involved in Kenya's infrastructure development as part of the country's Vision 2030.
