Khadakwasla-Fursungi Tunnel Project to Save 2.5 TMC Water and Improve Irrigation in Pune
NOVEL RENEWABLE ENERGY
The Khadakwasla-Fursungi Tunnel Project, valued at Rs 2,200 crore, aims to enhance water conservation by preventing leakage and evaporation. Currently, tunneling is underway using Tunnel Boring Machines, with nearly 1 km completed.
The project will cover 34 km, with 28 km underground, expected to save 2.5 TMC of water and irrigate an additional 3,472 hectares of land. Construction is set to complete in three years, following environmental clearance.
