Kilkenny Council Recommends Refusal of Ballyfasy Wind Farm Development
POWER GRIDS & TRANSMISSION
Kilkenny County Council has recommended that An Coimisiún Pleanála refuse planning permission for the Ballyfasy Wind Farm in South Kilkenny, citing concerns over landscape visual impact and insufficient information. The project, comprising 10 wind turbines with a capacity of 57-72 MW, must be decided by the planning authority due to its classification as Strategic Infrastructure Development. The council's decision follows a special meeting where local councillors expressed opposition based on potential impacts on residents and the existing concentration of wind turbines in the area.
