The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has initiated a phased mentorship program aimed at enhancing financial literacy among SMEs, in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Focused on Central Java, East Java, and the Riau Archipelago, this initiative involves fisheries extension workers to strengthen both individual businesses and collective enterprises.

A recent survey of 329 SMEs indicated a mixed level of financial literacy, highlighting the need for tailored development programs. This effort aligns with the government’s priorities to foster cooperative growth and sustainable economic practices.
