Lismore has completed a $1.28 million upgrade to the Gasworks Creek pump station, marking the first phase of a $29.8 million project to modernize its flood defense system. Funded by the Australian government through the Northern Rivers Recovery and Resilience Program, the upgrades aim to enhance the city's flood resilience and efficiency in stormwater management. Future work will include a new pump station in South Lismore and upgrades to Browns Creek and Magellan Street stations.
