Maharashtra to Launch Floating Solar Projects on Dams in Krishna and Godavari Basins
NOVEL RENEWABLE ENERGYSOLAR ENERGY
Maharashtra is set to launch floating solar projects on dam reservoirs in the Krishna and Godavari basins, aimed at enhancing renewable energy generation while reducing costs and land acquisition needs. The initiative, announced by state water resources minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, will primarily support the electricity requirements of the farming community and is expected to attract foreign investment through a public-private partnership model. Additionally, the floating solar panels will help conserve water by reducing evaporation.
