New Shillong Township Water Supply Scheme Advances After Resolving Land Issues

The New Shillong Township Water Supply Scheme has progressed significantly after resolving land disputes, with construction currently at 30% completion. PHE Minister Marcuise Marak announced that the dam is under construction and is expected to be finished by next year, with the project budgeted at Rs 538.44 crore to initially supply 33 million liters of water per day to the township and 32 surrounding villages, eventually expanding to 70 MLD. Advanced technologies, including a SCADA system and IoT, will ensure efficient monitoring and leak detection.
