The City of North Vancouver is evaluating a pilot project for autonomous food delivery robots by Serve Robotics, which already operates 2,000 bots in the U.S. The robots would deliver food within 2.5 kilometers at a speed of 4 to 6 km/h.

The project follows legislation passed in 2023 that allows municipalities to regulate delivery robots. The city is reviewing potential benefits and risks, with a council proposal expected in spring 2024.
