Ochoco Irrigation District to Launch Floating Solar Project for Local Grid
NOVEL RENEWABLE ENERGYSOLAR ENERGY
The Ochoco Irrigation District plans to develop a 3-acre floating solar array on Ochoco Reservoir, generating approximately 900 kilowatts of electricity for the local grid. The project aims to reduce water evaporation and improve water quality. It will be funded by a $1 million federal grant and will support low-income households through the Community Solar Program, lowering energy costs for Prineville ratepayers.
