The Odisha government plans to construct an Adarsh Goshala, or ideal cattle shelter, in Bhubaneswar at an investment of approximately Rs 40 crore to address the issue of stray cattle in the city. The designated land has been identified, and construction will begin soon at five locations.

The initiative aims to enhance urban safety by reducing stray cattle on roads, while also promoting the utilization of cow dung for biogas and compost production. Additional benefits include the creation of various products derived from cow by-products.
