On Running has launched a robot-operated factory in Busan, South Korea, aiming to enhance shoe manufacturing and reduce supply chain risks. The facility, featuring 32 robots, can produce 1,000 pairs of shoes daily and represents a significant expansion from a smaller factory in Zurich.

The brand plans additional factories in the U.S. and Europe to optimize delivery and cut tariff costs associated with imports from Vietnam and China. Automation is seen as a solution to manufacturing challenges and environmental impact.
