Optimization and Control of Wave Energy Converters in Various Research Studies
Research on wave energy converters (WECs) includes various studies on control systems, design optimization, and performance improvements. Notable works include the design of an experimental wave energy device emulator (2009), optimal sliding mode control for direct drive generators (2021), and hydrodynamic design optimization of point absorbers (2009).
Recent studies also focus on modeling oscillating water columns (2020) and dynamic control of WECs (2013). Advanced concepts in hybrid systems for wind and wave energy integration have been explored (2019).
Additionally, research on mooring systems and their performance for WECs has been presented at international conferences (2014, 2015). Key countries involved in this research include Sweden, Norway, France, and the USA.
