Panteia Reports Limited Administrative Burdens of EU ETS; Recommendations for Improvements

Panteia conducted a study for the Dutch Ministry of Climate and Green Growth on the administrative burdens of the EU ETS across various sectors. The report indicates that total regulatory costs for 2024 are estimated at around €21 million for stationary installations, €3.5 million for shipping, and €1.9 million for aviation, highlighting the EU ETS's effectiveness in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The NEa is committed to enhancing compliance support and simplifying processes, while the findings will inform the Netherlands' position for the ETS directive revision in 2026.
