Prime Minister James Marape has instructed the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Commission to review all mining agreements in Papua New Guinea. This directive follows recent record increases in global prices for gold, silver, and copper. The Prime Minister emphasized that the rise in commodity prices provides an opportunity for the country to obtain fair and equitable returns from its natural resources.
