Rapid City's Legal and Finance Committee approved over $44 million from Vision Funds for a $100 million expansion at Rapid City Regional Airport. The project will add five new gates to address gate crowding during peak summer months.

Officials aim to break ground within 12 to 24 months, while phase one of the terminal project, which includes baggage automation and TSA expansion, is already halfway complete. The full City Council will vote on the resolution on Tuesday.
