Rieter completed the acquisition of Barmag on February 2, 2026, enhancing its position as a global leader in fibre technologies. Barmag is now part of Rieter's dedicated Man-Made Fiber division, improving Rieter's capabilities in filament and synthetic fibres.

The acquisition was financed through a capital increase in October 2025 and bank loans. Barmag's management, led by Georg Stausberg, will integrate into Rieter's executive team, focusing on advancing automation, digitisation, and sustainability in textile manufacturing.
