The Shannon Airport Group has begun a €15 million upgrade of its terminal building, part of a €40 million investment for 2026. The project aims to enhance passenger facilities and improve sustainability by replacing the 1970s terminal section with a modern façade that will support electric heat pump technology and new HVAC systems.

Improvements will include upgraded immigration and baggage halls, new layouts, and the removal of an old corridor to reduce CO₂ emissions. Completion is expected by May 2027.
