Siemens and Stadler Consortium to Deliver 226 Automated Trains for Copenhagen S-Bane

DSB has announced a major investment to enhance Copenhagen's S-Bane with 226 new fully automated trains. This investment aims to improve service frequency, with trains running as often as every 1.5 minutes during peak hours.
The trains will feature innovative designs and advanced technologies, including Siemens' Air-free Brake System. A 30-year service agreement will ensure maintenance and operational support. Full automation is targeted by 2033, with the initial phase of automated operations set for 2030.
