SolarAfrica Secures R1.5 Billion for 114 MW SunCentral 2 Solar Plant in Northern Cape, South Africa

SolarAfrica has closed financing on R1.5 billion to develop the 114 MW SunCentral 2 solar plant in Northern Cape, South Africa. Funded by RMB and Investec Bank Limited, the project aims to provide reliable, affordable clean energy for businesses, with first power expected in 2026.

SunCentral 2 is part of a larger initiative aiming for 1 GW capacity, following SunCentral 1 and together with SunCentral 3. The project also includes community initiatives and will enhance the national grid through a new Main Transmission Substation.
