South West Water's £16 Million Upgrade Reduces Storm Overflow Spills by 30% in St Neot
FLOW CONTROL
In St Neot, near Liskeard, improved infrastructure has led to a 30% reduction in storm overflow spills in 2025 compared to 2024. This is part of South West Water's £16 million Infiltration Reduction Programme aimed at preventing groundwater from entering the sewer network.
Trenchless repair methods were used to seal manholes and internally line 200 meters of sewer pipe, thereby minimizing disruption while strengthening the system. Additional improvements include a new control panel and updated pump operations to ensure consistent performance during wet weather.
