Stefan Schönegger has been appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of ABB Machine Automation as of February 1, 2026. He aims to advance automation, software, and autonomous industrial solutions with a focus on open ecosystems and partnerships.

Schönegger has been with B&R since 2006, previously serving in various leadership roles, including product management. He succeeds Florian Schneeberger, who became Division President of Machine Automation Division and CEO of B&R Industrial Automation on November 1, 2025.
