Toray Industries has launched a new bonding technology for carbon fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP) that enhances aircraft manufacturing. The technology applies to both thermoplastic and thermosetting CFRP, achieving joint strength three times greater and assembly times reduced by a factor of three compared to conventional methods.

The new bonding process facilitates strong joints without adhesives or mechanical fasteners, supporting weight reduction and automation in production. Additionally, Toray has completed NCAMP qualification for its 3960 prepreg system, further solidifying its role in aerospace composites.
