Town and Country Fire Department has received a grant from the New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to enhance its wildland firefighting capabilities. The funding, part of the Volunteer Fire Capacity Grant (VFC) program, will support the purchase of a larger skid unit and two chain saws. The grant may provide up to $3,500, with a matching funds requirement fulfilled through the department's fundraising efforts.
