UK's Regulatory Innovation Office to Streamline Defence and Robotics Regulations

ROBOTICS

The UK's Regulatory Innovation Office (RIO) is prioritizing the removal of regulatory barriers in the defence and robotics sectors. The RIO plans to consolidate overlapping regulations to expedite approval processes, reducing costs for businesses.

A new 'Front Door' pilot scheme will allow sector businesses to influence regulations. Additionally, the UK Government has announced funding for five robotics adoption hubs, set to launch in the second half of 2026, to assist companies in integrating robotics into their operations.
