Vinton Steel will invest $327 million to expand its Texas electric arc furnace rebar mill capacity to 360,000 short tons per year by March 2027. The plan, announced by parent company Kyoei Steel, includes a new melt shop and an upgraded rolling mill, with construction set to begin in April 2026 and operations expected by October 2027. The increased investment reflects rising U.S. import tariffs and inflationary pressures on materials and construction costs.
